About Nestor

A calligraphic work written in black ink with floral motifs

Nestor is a modern calligraphy artist from Kyiv, currently based in Toronto.

His journey began in 2012 with street art and an exploration of letterforms. This hobby led him to OCAD University, where he studied Graphic Design. With the knowledge he gained, his focus shifted from traditional design to a more artistic perspective.

Since 2020, Nestor has been a strong advocate for the modern calligraphy movement. His main idea is to absorb the knowledge of different cultures and their alphabets to transform traditional letterforms into more abstract, expressive, and interesting shapes. Through this practice, he believes he can unite these cultures.

His goal is to bring more balance to the world through his calligraphic works, which respect and combine different cultures into entirely new pieces.
