Job Start On April 6, join us for an info session about JobStarts' Capability Program with Courtney Boudreau at JobStart.

JobStart’s Capability program assists persons with disabilities (visible or invisible) to enhance their employability skills and job prospects. With guidance from Job Coaches and Job Developers, PWD's can attend customized workshops to help prepare for their transition into the labour market. Participants are invited to attend pre-employment group workshops, after which they will receive support to acquire a 12-week paid work placement.

JobStart will be offering optional live virtual resume critiques at the event. This portion of the event will not be recorded. If you would like to receive feedback on your resume, please email a copy to explearningcentre@ocadu.ca with the Subject "Jobstart Workshop". The RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers has created resources to help folks get started on their resume materials. Check them out here:

We will be joined by Victoria Bacnis and Alison Nicholls from OCAD U’s Student Accessibility Services. Student Accessibility Services (SAS) provides supports and academic accommodations for all students with both temporary and permanent disabilities. Victoria and Alison will share information about accessing services through SAS and how advocating for your academic accommodation needs may translate to an employment setting.

Live auto-transcription will be available. The event will be recorded and made available afterwards. If you're unable to attend the event but would like to stay notified when the recording is available; or if you have any other questions, please email explearningcentre@ocadu.ca.
