INDIGENOUS STUDENT FINANCE FAIR: JULY 20-22 2021

The Indigenous Student Centre is excited to welcome Indigenous OCAD U students to the Indigenous Student Finance Fair. Have questions about band funding and OSAP? Looking to apply for Indigenous student bursaries and scholarships? Would you like assistance creating a budget and balancing your finances? Join us for one or all three sessions in the Indigenous Student Finance Fair! Indigenous students outside of OCAD U and Indigenous community members are welcome to attend Day 2 and Day 3! 

DAY 1: BURSARIES AND FINANCIAL PLANNING (JULY 20 1-2PM)

Are you a new or returning Indigenous OCAD U Student? Looking to get ahead on financial planning and learn about bursary opportunities, OSAP, dates and deadlines? Join the Indigenous Student Centre along with the Finance Office and  Financial Aid & Awards to learn about key contacts, resources and tips that will support your financial success at OCAD U! This session is open to Indigenous OCAD U Students only.

DAY 2: INDSPIRE - BUILDING BRIGHTER FUTURES: BURSARIES, SCHOLARSHIPS AND AWARDS (JULY 21 11AM-12PM)

Since 2004, Indspire has provided over $115 million in financial support to more than 37,500 First Nations, Inuit and Métis students. All Building Brighter Futures donations are matched by the Government of Canada allowing us to be double the impact for students. Join the Indspire team for an information session to learn about funding opportunities, upcoming deadlines, application tips and more! This session is open to all Indigenous students and Indigenous community members!

DAY 3: SEEDS OF SUCCESS - FEELING EMPOWERED ABOUT YOUR FINANCES (JULY 22 2:30-3:30PM) 

Are you looking to improve your financial literacy and budgeting? Join Indigenous facilitator Sabrina Spencer for a workshop where we'll discuss how to create a budget, balance expenses, plan ahead and methods to feel empowered about your finances! Sabrina is a proud Metis Kwe who believes the world is abundant and that with proper planning and tangible steps, everyone shall access a life of financial wealth. Now a justice worker, investor, home builder and landlord she spends her free time teaching others how to live a life of freedom by taking control of their finances. This session is open to all Indigenous students and Indigenous community members!
