Holly Ward | The Guest Series
Friday, March 20, 2020
12:00 – 1:00 PM
Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers, Level 3, 115 McCaul St

Based between Toronto and Heffley-Creek BC, Holly Ward is an interdisciplinary artist working with sculpture, multi-media installation, architecture, video and drawing as a means to examine the role of aesthetics in the formation of new social realities. Stemming from research of various visionary practices such as utopian philosophy, science fiction literature, Visionary Architecture, counter-cultural practices and urban planning, her work investigates the arbitrary nature of symbolic designation and the use-value of form in a social context.

Guest Series invites artists, designers and creative professionals who have a specialized practice or area of interest to come to OCADU and give a talk, hold a workshop, studio visits or participate in a class critique. The idea behind Guest Series is to exchange stories regarding professional process and to inform and help bridge gaps in our own individual processes, practices and journeys ahead.

Guest Series is organized by Jessie Holmes, IAMD MFA Candidate at OCAD University and Student Career Ambassador at the OCAD U Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers and Erica Stocking, IAMD MFA Candidate at OCADU.
