Dr. David Griffin (Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Art, and Chair of OCAD U's Research Ethics Board [REB]) will be speaking at the International Art Research Conference in Music, Visual Arts, Design, Cinema, Contemporary in Dance and Choreography, in Riga, Latvia, May 5-7th at Jāzepa Vītola Latvijas Mūzikas akadēmija / Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music (www.jvlma.lv). 

The conference addresses the burgeoning environment for creative practice PhDs, and the subject of the talk will be the research practice around David’s music notation system for silent singing, entitled "Interference: How to Write Silence," a project that developed a visual tool for composing with absence.
