Call for Participants - What Moves You - Intensive Virtual Residency with Camberwell/University of the Arts London, by OCAD U International

What Moves You, Virtual Residency

Apply to this international collaboration opportunity!

  • Current upper year (3rd and 4th year) OCAD U students in Drawing and Painting

  • Participants will be selected through an application process that is based on designerly merit, availability and interest in collaboration.

Launched during a global pandemic, this virtual partnership brings together 12 Fine Art (drawing and painting) students across both universities to connect in a process of exploration, to consider the potential of art to be a catalyst for social change. As lockdowns loom, as vaccine invention and dissemination accelerate, and as embedded issues of inequity dominate the news cycle - students endeavour to comprehend the impact of this transformative moment. Indeed, it is a moment that is changing everything we know, from ways of continuing practice to the evolution of new artistic narratives.

In this 6-week intensive, students will work towards building a trans-Atlantic network comprised of creative outputs and documentation from each individual’s location. Responding to a series of generative questions that prompt artistic response and deep critical discussion, students will collaborate to shape a collective project. The objective is to gain global insight, identify pressing social challenges, and represent an innovative web of artistic propositions.

OCADU students considering this opportunity:

Each student will receive a $150 material stipend
