Nicole Collins is a Visual Artist and Assistant Professor in the Drawing & Painting Program of the Faculty of Art. Since 2004 she has been teaching Painting at all levels including a stream of process-based courses which focus on bringing historical materials and processes to bear on a 21st century art practice. In Winter 2013 she led the OCAD U Florence program.
Her professional practice includes exhibitions at the Art Gallery of Ontario, The University of Waterloo Art Gallery, McMaster Art Museum Hamilton, The Embassy of Canada, Tokyo and numerous commercial exhibitions in Toronto, New York, London, Zurich and Miami. Her work is included in the major survey Abstract Painting in Canada (Roald Nasgaard), the 3rd edition of A Concise History of Canadian Painting (Dennis Reid), Carte Blanche, Volume 2: Painting, and The Donovan Collection Catalogue. Her work is represented in Toronto by General Hardware Contemporary Art.
Nicole is currently a Member of OCAD U Senate, and serves as the Faculty of Art Writing Fellow, part of the Writing Across the Curriculum initiative which promotes writing as an integral part of an Art & Design practice.
