REGISTRATION & COURSES

Registration

All students at OCAD University register for their courses online through the Student Information System, which can be accessed by clicking on the My Records link in the blue box on the upper right side of this page.

If you are an undergraduate student, the online course calendar is where you can view your program guide and course descriptions, and under the menu item 'Registration Guide' (Undergraduate Fall/Winter) (Undergraduate Spring/Summer) you can find out about the process and system access dates/times. You can access the course calendar further down this page or through the quicklinks provided at the bottom left side of this page.

Fall/Winter Semesters - About Undergraduate Registration Period

For new First-Year students, registration usually begins towards the end of June each year. For Returning or Advanced Standing students, registration will depend on how many credits you have already completed. The more credits you have, the sooner your registration period will begin between the end of June and mid-July. Complete information is available on the Fall/Winter course calendar.

Registration Assistance Days: Every year, the Office of the Registrar hosts Registration Assistance Days (RAD) at OCAD University to help new students register for their courses and navigate through our website. RAD runs over several days in the Summer and students will receive information by e-mail about dates/times and how to participate.

Spring/Summer Semesters - About Undergraduate Registration Period

Registration for the Spring/Summer semesters usually opens at the end of March each year. The undergraduate Summer semester is a part time-semester with a maximum allowable course load of 2.5 credits. Depending on the length of individual courses, they are scheduled in Duration 1 through Duration 5, and the registration deadlines differ accordingly. Complete information is available on the Spring/Summer course calendar.

Undergraduate Registration Status

In order to maintain full-time status, students must register in at least 2.0 credits in both the Fall and Winter semesters. The normal Fall/Winter full-time credit load is 5.0 credits (2.5 credits per semester). The maximum course load in the Fall or Winter semester is 3.0 credits.

Students who have enrolled as part-time students may register for up to 3.5 total credits in the Fall/Winter semesters, up to a maximum of 2.0 credits in one semester.
