COURSE CALENDARS
WORK STUDY
The University offers many on-campus employment opportunities through the Institutional Work Study Plan. OCAD U students registered in the degree or diploma program who are Canadian Citizens, Permanent Residents or Protected Persons with demonstrated financial need are eligible to apply for positions created through these programs. Available positions will be posted on the electronic Job Board. Work Study applications should be submitted directly to the on-campus employer identified in the job posting.
Institutional Work Study Plan
Program Objective: The objective of the Institutional Work Study Plan (IWSP) is to help students in financial need to meet their educational costs by working part-time during the study year. IWSP is funded through a portion of the Ontario Trust for Student Support. The plan is administered by OCAD U as per guidelines established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. Student jobs are funded on a cost-sharing basis; the IWSP provides 75% of the funds and OCAD U departments provide the remaining 25%. IWSP runs from September 10, 2012 through to April 19, 2013.
Student Eligibility: Students may apply for an IWSP job if they:
- are Canadian citizens, Permanent Residents or Protected Persons
- are Ontario residents
- are registered in full- or part-time studies during the 2012/2013 fall/winter semester
- demonstrate financial need
Maximum Award: There is no maximum award, although departments may not exceed the total number of hours allocated to the position.
Student Wage: The current monitor rate is $11.28 per hour (which is the base rate of $10.25 plus 4% vacation pay and 6% in lieu of benefits).
