Student Loan Deferment Request Instructions

If you have applied for OSAP (or any government-funded student loans through another province) for the 2011/2012 year at OCAD University, you can use one of the payment methods explained on the 2011/2012 Fees & Payment web page OR you can request to defer your tuition payment until you pick up your student loan by submitting the online request below.

Student Loan Deferment Requests must be submitted via this online form by Friday, August 26, 2011. 

Fees

A $60 Student Loan Deferment & Service Fee will be charged to all students who choose to use their student loan in order to pay their tuition fees. This $60 fee will be included in the total amount deducted from your student loan when your funds are released at disbursement. The deferment will be valid until January 31, 2012.

Student Loan Deferment Forms will be accepted after August 26, 2011, with the $60 Deferment & Service fee and an additional Late Payment Fee of $50.

Deadline

The deadline for fee payment is Friday, August 26, 2011. You will be charged a late payment fee in the amount of $50 if you do not pay your fees, submit a student loan deferment request, or provide proof of sponsorship to the Student Accounts Clerk by this deadline.

Approval

To be eligible for a student loan deferment, students must have submitted a completed OSAP application (or out-of-province equivalent) and this online deferment request by Friday, August 26, 2011.

If you are receiving loans from a non-Ontario province or territory, you must submit proof (a loan application or assessment) in person to the Financial Aid & Awards office at 51 McCaul Street or via fax at 416-599-4958 as soon as you have submitted this form. Please be sure to complete this by the deadline, Friday, August 26, 2011. Your request may not be processed without this proof.

Refer to the Disbursement Schedule for the recommended dates to pick up your student loan funds.
