Florence Bursary Programs:
Andre Beaulieu OTSS Bursary Program
OCAD U Student Assistance Fund (OSAF) Bursary Program
Florence Bursaries range in value from $500 to $5,000 depending on individual circumstances, and are generally given as tuition credits in August. Approximately 10 bursaries are available. The Florence Bursary Programs are established through endowments to the Ontario Trust for Student Support (OTSS) and tuition revenues (OSAF).
In order to apply for a bursary through this program, a student must:
- Be studying on a full-time basis at OCAD U in the Florence Program during the 2011/2012 academic year.
- Be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Person.
- Be an Ontario resident.
- Demonstrate financial need (priority is given to OSAP students; non-OSAP students will only be considered if funds are available).

Joubin-Selig Bursary Program (Mobility/Exchange)
This bursary was established by the Franc R. Joubin Trust/Marion, Marea and David Selig through the Ontario Trust for Student Support (OTSS) to assist gifted and/or financially needy students to study enrichment programs in their field of study in Canada and internationally. Approximately $20,000 is available annually -- $10,000 in each of the Fall and Winter semesters. This amount may be divided in order to support more than one student in each semester, if necessary. In order to apply for a bursary through this program, students must:
- Be participating in OCAD U’s Mobility/Exchange Program during their third year of study at a school that OCAD U has an official exchange agreement with in either the Fall or Winter semesters.
- Be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Person
- Be an Ontario resident
- Demonstrate financial need (priority is given to OSAP students; non-OSAP students will only be
considered if funds are available) - The bursary is tenable upon proof of registration at the host institution.
- Be required to submit a thank you letter upon receipt of their award, and a written report about their experience upon completion of their studies abroad. The report will be forwarded to the donors and should include images of any work produced during the semester.
FALL SEMESTER: The deadline to apply is Monday, July 18, 2011, 4 pm. Results will be sent by the end of August.
WINTER SEMESTER: The deadline to apply is Tuesday, November 15, 2011, 4 pm. Results will be sent by mid December.
2011/2012 Joubin-Selig Bursary Application (PDF)
Ontario International Education Opportunity Scholarship (Mobility/Exchange or Florence)
OCAD U is pleased to announce that the Government of Ontario has allocated funding to create Ontario International Education Opportunity Scholarships in 2011/2012 for students completing part of their academic program abroad through the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities’ International Strategy.
This scholarship will provide students with financial support for an eligible period of academic study, work term or co-op placement outside of Canada. CONFIRMED: The total number of $2,500 scholarships available to OCAD U students for 2011/2012 is 11.
Students are required to meet the following criteria in order to apply for a non-repayable scholarship through this program. Students must:
- Be participating in OCAD U’s Florence Program OR Mobility/Exchange Program during the 2011/2012 academic year (Fall or Winter semester), studying at an international school that OCAD U has an official exchange agreement with. Studies must start between April 1, 2011, and March 31, 2012, and be of at least two months duration.
- Be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Person.
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Be studying full time and in good academic standing at OCAD U.
- Not have previously received an OIEOS award.
- Not be participating in another Government of Ontario sponsored exchange program, such as the Baden-Wurttemberg, Rhone-Alps, Maharashtra-Goa or Ontario Jiangsu Exchange Programs.
Note: Students who are Aboriginal, francophone or who have permanent disabilities will be given special consideration.
