Career Services considers career preparation to be a four-year conversation, with specific topics to cover and master at each year level.

The Career Planning Guide will help you stay on track with a checklist of activities to complete each year. Get started now! 

Third-Year: Marketing Yourself

• Be the best student you can be!
• Talk to your Career Service Advisor and visit Career Resources for information about:

                Creating a career strategy
                Information interviews
                Resumes and cover letters
                Portfolios and websites

• Ask for information interviews with professors and people in the careers that interest you
• Visit Career Resources for information on how to volunteer, join associations or intern in your field of interest
• Network, network, network. Support your colleague's work. You should know at least six professors and many more peers by now
• Get involved. Join student groups, work as a class assistant or become a student Peer Mentor
• Continue to visit as many galleries, arts organizations and design institutes as possible and research the ones where you'd like to work or exhibit
