OCAD U Agency
The OCAD U Agency delivers a way to connect Faculty and staff offices with identifiable student talent for hire. This program gives our various departments access to the support they might need for a range of projects, events and initiatives. In tandem, our students benefit from the opportunity to deepen their connection to the OCAD U community, in a paid work-related capacity, where they can build on skills and contribute within a structured context.
How does it work and why is it different?
The OCAD U Agency is not your basic "post/submit-interview-hire" mechanism. This initiative is designed to help fill immediate, short term needs that fall outside of Work Study and other established programs. Simply put, the Career Development office builds, maintains and houses a database of available student talent upon which to draw when a department identifies a need for specific student support. Your department then compensates directly from the related budget.
The community acts as the "client", while our students serve as "freelance" suppliers. The OCAD U Agency facilitates the connection between both parties and augments the relationship with support materials.
