VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

A long-standing tradition...
Students and alumni interested in volunteering join others in a long-standing tradition. It's an ideal way to get involved; make new friends through interaction with peers, faculty and staff or network and grow in the external community.
There are many opportunities to volunteer throughout the academic year:
- Campus Life programs
- Community and Outreach volunteer opportunities
- Diversity and equity oriented committees
- Green Exchange
- LOOK INSIDE
- Nuite Blanche
- O-DAYS! (orientation)
- OCAD Student Union events and activities
- Student initiatives
- Student Mentor Program
- Sustainability Task Force initiatives
- Tutoring
- and more!
What's in it for you?
- an opportunity to contribute to your community
- the discovery of new interests
- a "heads up on other unique events and opportunities
- networking possibilities
- personal and professional growth
- skills development
Volunteering is a great way to get experience. Be sure to list it on your résumé and it will be seen by many of your potential employers as a demonstration of initiative, resourcefulness and commitment.
Speaking of commitment... follow through!
A key factor to remember when volunteering is to check your schedule before you commit. And when you do commit, have fun, but be sure to follow through on what you say you're going to do.
The success of an event can be dependent on you. Go the extra mile to show that you’re dependable and the impression you make will speak volumes!
VOLUNTEER! Fill in this online form to get in our Volunteer Database!
Accessibility for Ontarions with Disabilities Act (AODA)
AODA is now law. OCAD University is legally mandated to provide AODA Customer Service information and training to all employees, volunteers and student leaders.
Volunteers are required to review the following instructions and complete the online modules.*
The AODA Online Learning Module will require 50 to 60 minutes to complete.
*NOTE: if you have already completed these online modules as a requirement of another on-campus job or volunteer position, please go directly to Step 4 and send an email as confirmation of your AODA training. You do not need to do it again.
