Wood Shop

Overview

The Wood Shop (Room 108) offers students the materials and equipment required to facilitate wood construction. The shop is equipped with most of the major stationary and portable power equipment used for cutting and machining wood. There are a number of large heavy tables for organizing projects and clamping. Processes undertaken in the Wood Shop include:

  • Cutting
  • Drilling/boring
  • Fine milling/dressing
  • Joinery
  • Bending
  • Vacuum bending/veneering
  • Turning spindle/face plate
  • Sanding
  • Finishing

Facilities and equipment

Stationary: Band saw, scroll saw, table saw, radial arm saw, jointer, planner, spindle sander, disc/belt sander, mortiser, thickness sander, large capacity lathe, drill press

Portable: Router, jig saw, biscuit joiner, die grinder, drill, electric chainsaw, vacuum pump and bag, common woodworking hand tools, carving chisels

The Wood Shop is now closed for Grad Ex preparation. Please check back soon for summer schedules in select shops and studios.
