I started with OCAD University in 2006 after spending 7 years at Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (ACC) and 2 years prior at the Skydome. With experience in facility security, event security and security systems as my speciality I helped with the security transition from the Maple Leaf Gardens to the Air Canada Centre.

I graduated from C.W. Jefferys Collegiate Institute High School and did my post secondary at Seneca College in the Law Enforcement & Security program. I am currently looking to pursue a degree in Disaster Management at York University. Some of my training and expertise includes Emergency Management Ontario levels 1-3, Interviewing Techniques, and Assessing and Managing Risk for General Violence in Post-Secondary Institutions, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design. I am a fully licensed soccer coach with Pre B credentials from the Ontario Soccer Association. I have been volunteering my soccer coaching for kids in the North York community for 15 years.

My favourite part about OCAD U is the people and the environment that embraces equity and diversity. Above and beyond that working with a team that “Rocks” on a daily basis is definitely a bonus! We work really hard to make the security experience at OCAD U a good one for everyone in our community.

I started with OCAD University in 2013 after 5 years of experience in the Security field. I began the first 2 years of my career in Security and Loss Prevention at Canada’s Wonderland, where I was able to gain knowledge and hands-on experience in patrolling, security communication, surveillance, and a variety of emergency response situations. I later spent the following 3.5 years in a supervisorial role as a Data Centre Protection Officer. I was able to expend my previous skill set while gaining experience as a supervisor in an advanced biometric controlled facility. This environment provided me the opportunity to assist in the development and implementation of new security protocols and procedures.

I graduated from Seneca College in 2009 with honours from Police Foundations. I have since received several certifications in Emergency management, Mental Health First Aid, Distress & Trauma Recovery and Violence Risk/Threat Assessment. My greatest accomplishment in training is the hands on experience I receive here at OCAD U everyday. I’ve had the opportunity to work with students, staff and faculty that have taught me more than I could have every learned in any course.

I enjoy reading, trying new restaurants, and enjoy taking part in organized runs.

I started with OCAD University in June 2016 after 8 years of experience in the Security industry. I began my professional career at Canada’s Wonderland as a Security Guard, where I had the responsibility of guest and employee safety, along with responding and deescalating any emergency situations. I then took on the role as Loss Prevention Investigator at Sears Canada Inc., where I have refined my analytical skills through fraud and theft investigations.  I then worked at Tiffany & Co as a Security Supervisor, where I oversaw the physical security of the premises, while ensuring emergency procedural guidelines were in place.

I graduated from Seneca College with a Police Foundations diploma and then pursued a postgraduate certificate in Advanced Investigations and Enforcement. In addition, I earned a degree in Bachelor of Science, Justice Studies (Honours) along with a Law and Security Administrations diploma from Guelph-Humber University.

I have recently joined the OCAD U team after 2 years as a Health and Safety Coordinator at a concrete infrastructure company. At Munro Ltd, I provided leadership to management for both Construction and Industrial legislation compliance, disability and injury management and overall, both created and facilitated the Health and Safety Management system for all workers. I have over 5 years’ experience in both industrial and construction health and safety and a strong auditing background, successfully completing several WSIB audits as well as becoming a certified COR (certificate of recognition) auditor.

I graduated from McMaster University in 2009 with a Honours Bachelor of Arts degree and followed up with a Bachelors of Education from the University of Western Ontario in 2011. In January of 2015, I successfully completed the Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation, an extensive program that evaluates your knowledge in various Health and Safety disciplines including Occupational Hygiene, Risk Assessment, Law and Ethics and Accident Investigation etc. I am currently working towards completing my Health and Safety consulting license.

I am music lover and spend most of my free time attending concerts in and around the city or being active at the gym or running at high park or going on hikes all over Ontario.

My favourite part about OCAD U is the dynamic staff who create an inviting work and learning environment.
