What is the Inspired Teaching Award?

The Inspired Teaching Award is one of four awards in the OCAD University awards suite, which includes the Price Award for Excellence in Teaching, the Non-Tenured Faculty Award and the BLG Equity Award.

The Inspired Teaching Award is an informal award given through the Faculty & Curriculum Development Centre (FCDC). It is awarded to faculty members and teaching assistants (TAs) whose passion for art and design education has enhanced learning and influenced creative practice. There are multiple categories of this award:

  • Excellence in Teaching First Year Students
  • Leadership to Advance Teaching
  • Teaching Assistant of the Year

Who can submit a nomination?

All members of the OCAD U community are welcome to submit nominations. The deadline for submissions is the end of February (2017 date to be announced in the Winter term).

How are faculty recognized?

OCUFA awards

What are the OCUFA awards?

The OCUFA Teaching and Academic Librarianship Award is Ontario's provincial teaching award. It is administered by the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations, and approximately seven awards are given out annually (traditionally in Spring).

Who can submit a nomination?

Faculty members and sessional instructors are welcome to submit a personal application of no more than 50 pages. Interested individuals are strongly encouraged to contact the FCDC for support in drafting and revising their application.
