Hours and locations

The OCAD U Library is comprised of three different locations.

Dorothy H. Hoover Library

The OCAD U Library empowers the imagination and leads the university community in the creation, discovery and sharing of knowledge. Use the library as your first stop in research. We provide a variety of study areas, self-serve group study rooms, scanners and desktop computers networked with a full suite of software. Registered students, faculty and staff have access to over 100,000 art and design books, and extensive digital resources including almost 200,000 e-books and 42,000 full text e-journals as well as materials, multimedia and image databases.

Location

  • 122 St. Patrick Street, Level 1, also accessible from 113 McCaul Street
  • 2nd floor above the Village by the Grange Foodcourt (elevator and stair access)
  • Bike parking is available on McCaul Street and St. Patrick Street.

Summer hours

April 23 to September 5, 2017

  • Monday to Friday: 9 a.m. to 6:45 pm
  • CLOSED: Saturdays and Sundays

Exceptions CLOSED:

  • Monday, May 22 (Victoria Day)
  • Friday, June 30 (Canada Day)
  • Monday, August 7 (Emancipation Day/Civic Holiday)
  • Monday, September 4 (Labour Day)

The Learning Zone

This is a studio-based library space; an alternative work area where you can collaborate with other students and faculty, or seek advice from library staff.

Location:

  • 122 St. Patrick St., Level 1, also accessible from 113 McCaul St.
  • 1st floor of Village by the Grange Foodcourt, under the Library
  • Bike parking is available on McCaul Street and St. Patrick Street.
  • With the exception of public events and exhibitions, you must have a valid OCAD University ID card to enter the Learning Zone.

Visual Resources & Special Collections

This library location provides access to collections of slides (from OCA and the AGO), analogue media, digital images, and the University Archives. Materials are made available by appointment, please contact us.
