Imagination Catalyst

The Imagination Catalyst is OCAD University’s hub for entrepreneurship and commercialization. Our mission is to support and develop entrepreneurial talent among OCAD U faculty, students and alumni, as well as creative entrepreneurs across the GTA. Our goal is to help launch new companies and products that contribute to the prosperity of our community.

What we do

Our doors are open to support OCAD U students, faculty, alumni and members of our community who are interested in starting a business. Whether you’re interested in commercializing research or exploring self-employment, consider making Imagination Catalyst your first stop.

Is the Imagination Catalyst right for your startup?

OCAD U is an art and design university with maker-based start-up expertise. In our incubator, contemporary maker entrepreneurs leverage emerging technologies to create, build, design, tinker, modify, hack, invent, or simply make innovative objects which address a market need or opportunity. The Imagination Catalyst program has been building entrepreneurial capacity and is the campus focal point for youth-led start-ups at OCAD U since 2010. It is currently funded by the Government of Ontario and the Ontario Network of Entrepreneurs (ONE), the province’s innovation system for scaling and growing campus-linked entrepreneurial capacity and campus-linked entrepreneurial activities. The Imagination Catalyst Fund, a seed investment fund designed to support Imagination Catalyst companies, is supported by Relay Ventures.
