hybrid
October 13 to November 6
Reception:  Thursday, October 14, 5 to 7 pm
The term hybrid is an idiom present in our culture defining fusion in everything from vehicles to a tea rose. Respectively, it has come to the fore in art production and is exemplified by the participating artists in this exhibit who are OCADU faculty, alumni, students, and mentors.  Wood, crocheted sculptures and other media interact within the print based practices of Hannah Enkel, Doug Guildford, Libby Hague, Luke Painter and Lisa Visser. Curated by Christine Swiderski.

Hybrid is held in conjunction with Printopolis, a 4-day symposium with an international focus on contemporary printmaking being presented by Open Studio in Toronto, October 21 – 24.  Printopolis will feature issue-based panel discussions/presentations, artist talks and printmaking demonstrations. This citywide event features exhibitions highlighting contemporary print media works on display throughout Toronto. For more information visit: http://www.openstudio.on.ca/printopolis.html

Extended hours at OCADU Student Gallery during Printopolis: Friday, October 22, 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Aboveground Art Supplies is a proud supporter of the OCADU Student Gallery.
