A limited number of Graduate Scholarships may be available to full-time students in the following programs:
All applicants will automatically be considered for any available scholarships (you do not need to apply). Scholarships for both domestic and international students are subject to available funds and the allocation decisions of the Admissions Committee. The amount of this scholarship is normally communicated to incoming graduate students as part of their offer of acceptance into the program.
Scholarships are not currently available for part-time students.
The President's Scholarship is valued at $7,500 per academic year for a period of two years. The scholarship is currently offered to one full-time student per year of admission in each of the following programs:
The scholarship is offered to the top incoming student to the program, as determined by that program's Admissions Committee. All applicants are automatically considered for this scholarship (you do not need to apply). The President's Scholarship may be offered in addition to another scholarship, such as the Graduate Scholarship, or as a stand-alone scholarship.
Recipients of the President's Scholarship must maintain a grade average of 80 percent throughout the duration of their studies to remain eligible for the scholarship.
The OCAD U India Scholarship is valued at $8,000 per academic year for a period of two years. The Scholarship will be offered to the top Indian applicant each year to any one of the following programs:
The scholarship is offered to the top incoming Indian student, as determined by a Scholarship Committee. All applicants who are residents of India and who do not have Canadian citizenship are automatically considered for this scholarship (you do not need to apply).
Recipients of the OCAD U India Scholarship must be studying full-time and must maintain a grade average of 80% throughout the duration of their studies to remain eligible for the scholarship.
Current students and applicants to full time graduate programs at OCAD U are strongly encouraged to apply to the Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarships Program of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) and the Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) program.

The Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarships program seeks to develop research skills and assist in the training of highly qualified personnel by supporting students in the social sciences and humanities who demonstrate a high standard of achievement in undergraduate and early graduate studies. These scholarships are valued at $17,500 over 12 months (non-renewable) and are open to Canadian citizens or permanent residents only.
Current OCAD U students (undergraduate and graduate) must apply through the Office of Graduate Studies. Non-OCAD U students should apply through their current university; other applicants apply directly to SSHRC. For more information, please visit the SSHRC website.
For current OCAD U students, SSHRC applications are due to the Office of Graduate Studies by 5 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2012.
Since 1975, Ontario, in partnership with Ontario’s publicly-assisted universities, has encouraged excellence in graduate studies at the master's and doctoral levels through the awarding of Ontario Graduate Scholarships (OGS). OGS awards are merit-based scholarships available to students in all disciplines of academic study. The OGS program is jointly funded by the Province of Ontario and Ontario universities.
Please note that this information pertains to the OGS application process at OCAD University only. Each university defines its own process and sets its own deadlines. Students must apply for the award at the university where they plan to attend graduate studies. The OGS is not transferrable between universities.
The scholarship is valued at $5,000 per academic term for either two or three consecutive terms and is open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and international students in Canada on a student visa.

OCAD University has funding from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities to offer Ontario Graduate Fellowships (OGF). The amount of funds available varies from year to year.
The fellowship will be granted to the graduate student with the highest grade point average at the conclusion of his or her first year of study. Full-time students in the following programs are eligible:
The fellowship will not affect any internal scholarships granted by OCAD University and will not be affected by the receipt of external awards such as SSHRC or OGS.
A limited number of paid Teaching Assistantship (TA) or Research Assistantship (RA) opportunities are available in the Faculties of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Art or Design. Graduate Assistantships are subject to availability and compatibility of a student’s skills with Faculty needs and individual faculty research projects. These positions typically range in pay from approximately $2,000 to $4,000 per semester.
