Eva Waldauf

The Story Goes Like This by Eva Waldauf.
Born in Toronto, Eva Waldauf, followed her first love, Art, at Ontario College of Art. She entered the Experimental Art Department (Drawing & Painting) and graduated in 1990. She continued to produce paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture and collage art and exhibit in Toronto.

In 1993 Eva moved to Vancouver with her first husband and cat Nya. Eva went to Simon Fraser University, graduating in 1998 with a BA in Arts and Culture Studies. Eva realized she loved to teach art to adults and began to teach painting, sculpture and collage at community centres, the Vancouver School Board and several galleries.

Eva has been a member of two Art groups in Vancouver. From 1999 – 2002 she was a member of the Gallery Gachet cooperative and the Chair of Exhibitions Committee. She curated several group exhibitions during that time. In the past 5 years, Eva has been a member of the Avenue for/des Arts, a non-profit Artist run group. They are dedicated Artists, who create free public workshops, projects and exhibit together in Vancouver.

Eva curated Tempestuous Words & Lush Images Exhibition, shown February 1 to March 1, 2009. It was a collaboration of Avenue for/des Arts Artists and Poets (Vancouver Poetry Slam and Pandora’s Collective), who paired up to create Art or Poetry from each other. This creative output culminated in the exhibition and Poetry performance night.

As an exhibiting artist for 27 years, Eva has had 7 solo exhibitions, several two-person exhibitions and 55 group exhibitions. She continues to make, exhibit and curate Art in Vancouver, New Brunswick and Toronto.

Eva is currently creating and exhibiting mixed media images and paintings of nude lovers and ocean images in Vancouver, with her cat Chocolate and her new love. She’s using her materials in new ways, using torn tissue/hand made paper in layers of text, photographs and objects. Her paintings are Acrylic washes on board showing the grain and texture of the wood. Eva is also writing and performing her Poetry in Vancouver.
