  • Vinh Le (4th year) was featured in MetroNews for his thesis project: a plan to redevelop an elementary school into an intergenerational community centre. (May 2016)

  • Two interdisciplinary teams of Environmental and Industrial Design students took home the top prizes at the Kentwood Design Challenge held at Toronto’s Interior Design Show (IDS 2016). The first prize of $3000 was awarded to OCAD U’s Olayide Madamidola, Kyung Hyun Kim and Joon Leem for NATURE X NATURE.  OCAD U students Hamid Shahi and Victor Mancini won the second prize of $2000 for DYNAMIC LANDSCAPE. Finalists Topher Kong and Avis Ho also received a $1000 prize for SHAN SHUI. 

  • Hamidreza Aghashahi (Hamid Shahi) won $1,000 from Lexus Canada for the Lexus National Design School Challenge, in collaboration with Victor Mancini (Industrial Design). The winning design is called "Diamond Motion". (November 2015)

  • Xiaoyu Xu (Sherry Xu), a third-year student, has won first place in the Architecture category of the CONNECT: Enabling Change Post-Secondary Design Competition. (April 2015)
  • The Design Haus Competition awards event was held on March 6 at 233 College St. Chieng Luphuyong won first prize ($10,000). Orod Tajdaran, Pouria Amidi and Yalda Bakhtiari won third prize ($3,000). Congratulations to all!  (March 2015)
  • Stephanie Mauer, an Environmental Design graduate, won the Gold Medal at the University of British Columbia for completing her MArch. Ryan Panos also graduated with an March. (August 2014)
  • Sanaz Mianji, a 2014 OCAD University medal winner: Mianji's House of Artists is space designed as a stable foundation for artists and entrepreneurs, foster a thriving community that nourishes inspiration, growth and innovation. (August 2014)
  • The following Environmental Design students were accepted into a master's of architecture or master's of landscape architecture program: Parham  Karimi (also awarded a $7,000.00 entry scholarship), Dakota Wares-Tan, Erica Nassirian, Herman Borrego, Rui Felix, Jackly Kaloczi and Max Provosoudov (May 2014)
  • Eve Zorawski received early admission to the dual Master's in Sustainable Urban Transitions - Nordic 5-tech. (May 2014)
