GETTING STARTED: FACULTY
1. Log in to your OCAD e-mail account
Your faculty e-mail address is the primary method of contact from the university and your students. Log in at https://outlook.ocad.ca.
Your faculty email password provides access to email, the wireless network, faculty and computer studio desktop computers, and My Courses. Your username is usually your first initial followed by your last name. If you forget your password, please come directly to the service window at 317a with your OCAD University ID card to have your password reset. Contact the IT Help Desk at x277 for assistance.
2. Log in to My Courses
My Courses provides the ability to post course outlines, images, PDF and Powerpoint documents, start discussion groups, e-mail your students, and download class lists. When you log in, My Courses automatically knows what courses you teach and what students are in your class. Use your e-mail username and password to log in.

3. Get Software
Microsoft Office 2007 or 2010 for Windows (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Office 2008 or 2011 for Mac are licensed to faculty and staff under OCAD’s Campus Agreement. This software is owned by the university, but provided for curriculum development at home.
For faculty members teaching Adobe Creative Suite 6 and the Adobe Video Collection in the academic computer labs, this Adobe software is available to these faculty under a special licensing agreement for professional development. Please contact Andrew McAllister in IT Services at x304 for more information.
All software is available with a valid OCAD U ID from the Laptop Help Desk (Room 664, 100 McCaul).

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I get an email account?
Email accounts are set up through your Faculty Offices and Human Resources. Please notify your Faculty Office directly to correctly initiate this process.
Q: How do I make photocopies?
Please contact your Faculty Office to add copy credits to your account. You are typically allocated $25 per course per term. More Information on photocopying and printing at OCAD University please visit Copy & Print Services website
Q: What software is available in the computer labs?
Software does vary from lab to lab; please refer to Computer Studios page.
Q: What software am I entitled to for home use?
Please visit the Laptop Help Desk located in 664 100 McCaul for a list of current software.
Q: How do I use the AV equipment in the smart classrooms?
All smart classrooms require a media kit (key, AV cables, and remote control).
If your class is on the 5 th or 6 th floor in the Sharp Center media kits are available out of the Laptop Program Help Desk, room 664. If your class is located in the main building at 100 McCaul (floors 1 through 4) media kits are available at AV Loans, room 341.
If your class is located in 113 McCaul, media kits are available from First Year Laptop Help Desk, room 1301.
If your class is located at 205 Richmond the rooms are “self serve”. Each room has a key inside of a lock box. Please contact South Campus Help Desk in room 7701 or phone 4655 to get the code.
