CHEMICAL HANDLING
A variety of chemicals are used in the delivery of art and design education at the undergraduate and graduate levels in a learning environment. The handling, storage, use and disposal of these chemicals are governed by legislative requirements contained within the Occupational Health & Safety Act, the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act, as well as the Ontario Fire Code and the Ontario Building Code. A policy for OCADU's procurement, handling, storage, use and disposal of chemicals is currently in development.
