Dealing with Emergencies & Location of Emergency Equipment
OCAD University is committed to providing a healthy and safe environment for all employees, students and visitors. OCAD U has a comprehensive Emergency Plan in order to minimize the risk of injury and harm and to initiate a fast and effective response to emergencies. We strongly encourage you to review this plan through OCAD U's website (under "ABOUT OCAD U" then "Administrative Policies").
As per this, a Threat Assessment Team has been established to respond to emergencies of various natures. The team consists of Security, Risk Management, Health & Wellness, Student Services, as well as external EMS.
In Case of an Emergency
In the event of an emergency wherein a person is injured, the following steps should be taken:
- Obtain first aid: Call Security, if required
- Fill out an "Incident Report"
- Notify your Supervisor (for employees) or Faculty (for students) immediately.
