What is a Planned Gift?
A planned gift, unlike a direct gift of cash or securities, is a deferred form of giving — donors make a commitment now to be fulfilled in the future.
Planned gifts can be designated to an OCAD University priority of your choice: scholarships, bursaries, specific faculties or departments, capital projects or for general purposes. All planned gifts are eligible for tax credits, ranging in value according to your specific financial circumstances.
We strongly encourage you to discuss your gift intentions with your professional legal and financial advisors to verify how each option applies to your particular circumstances.
We also encourage you to discuss your gift intentions, in confidence, with a member of OCAD U’s Development team, who can assist you with wording related to your gift and ensure that the University is able to fulfill your intentions and recognition request.
If you would like further information on the types of planned gifts or require more information, please contact Alanna Burt, Senior Manager, Donor Relations, at (416) 977-6000, Ext. 481
