Nomadic Residents Creation and Collaboration Project

on exhibit now in Transit Space

March 27, 2012

The Faculty of Art presented the works of the OCAD U students who participated in the Creation and Collaboration workshop, led by this year's Nomadic Residents Ghada Amer and Reza Farkondeh, who were at OCAD U from March 19 to 23. The work was on display in Transit Space until March 28.

Over the course of three 90-minute sessions, students Veronica Abrenica, Graham Curry, Iris Karuna, Nicole Malbeuf, Janine Miedzik, Amanda Lynn Moorehouse, Christel Scott, Alexandra Pearl Haddad and Vladimir Radoykov first worked individually, then surrendered their artwork to a peer - an open and trusting invitation to interpret and continue the piece as each saw fit.

Students were asked to consider the following questions: How to respond? To build on? To erase? To cut, to pierce? What to emphasize, to minimize? How much or how little is needed? Will there be harmony, or dissonance?
