Attention new students! FLASHforward! Orientation & Welcome 2009, where your university memories begin, is quickly approaching!
Wednesday, September 2 kicks off with a pancake breakfast. OCAD’s welcome activities, coordinated by Campus Life and the OCAD Student Union (OCADSU), include the participatory installation Memory Machine, created and directed by artist Lo Bil, working with OCAD student designers Filip Anton (fourth-year, Integrated Media), Jaspal Birdi (fourth-year, Drawing & Painting) and Vladimir Milosevic (second-year, Graphic Design). This massive interactive event will take you beyond the cognitive to enable your own physical “memory machines”!
OCAD’s Butterfield Park will also be a bustle of activity with a Vendor’s Fair, Student Group Fair and Aboveground Art Supplies’ Annual Art Materials Fair featuring the ITOYA Digital Photo Minivan! The day also includes workshops and seminars, campus tours, lunch, and in the evening, a licensed all-ages party at XPACE!
Orientation festivities continue on Thursday, September 3 with brunch, an OCAD Resources Fair and an Art & Design Fair in Butterfield Park, followed by the Mentor Program Meet ‘n Greet, campus tours, local community walks, and in the evening, a licensed all-ages party courtesy of OCADSU.
Make plans to join us both days! Don’t miss out on this opportunity to have fun, meet fellow students, get free stuff, and a chance to win great prizes.
We look forward to meeting you!
