9000 - Finance
The Finance Office is responsible for the acquisition of quality goods and services in support of the goals and mandate of OCAD U. The purchasing process is administered in accordance with this directive and its related policies, unless otherwise delegated by the Board of Governors, the President or the Vice-President, Finance & Administration.

OCAD U Liabilities
OCAD U takes all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of students, faculty and staff. However, the university must disclaim liability for all personal belongings brought to university premises. This includes items such as purses, backpacks and bicycles, as well as curriculum-related materials such as artwork, books, cameras, computer equipment and data. The university encourages all members of the OCAD U community to guard their possessions while on university property, and to maintain an appropriate level of personal insurance coverage to protect them in case of loss or damage.
OCAD University shall incur no liability for loss or damage suffered or incurred by any student or third party as a result of delays or termination of services, courses or classes by reason of acts of God, fire, flood, riots, war, strikes, lock-outs, damage to OCAD U property, financial exigency, or other happenings or occurrences beyond the reasonable control of the university.
